Got a problem?

If you suspect that your wastewater treatment system isn’t functioning correctly, don’t wait until it’s too late. Our team of experienced engineers has successfully resolved many customer problems over the years and are standing by to provide you with the support you need.

Our team is always ready to support you, 24/7, 365 days a year, even during emergency breakdowns at the most inconvenient times.

Signs of a failing System:

Some Systems have alarms, flashing beacons or control panels with error codes to signal that something is wrong. If yours does not, here are some common signs that your system is failing or not running at optimal efficiency:

  • Your tank, plant or pump fills up faster than usual
  • Your drain collection network isn’t draining and standing water appears on the surface of the ground
  • There is pollution visible at the discharge point

Now that the project is complete and the kit has been installed and commissioned, what’s next? It’s likely that a considerable amount of money was spent on good design, the right product, and the correct installation of the system. To ensure long-term, reliable, and efficient service, it’s important to take care of it. Therefore, it’s crucial to maintain the system’s effectiveness by regular servicing and maintenance.

Our team of Service Engineers are experts in providing exceptional maintenance services at reasonable rates. They are accredited by British Water and possess the necessary skills to carry out all maintenance work to a high standard. Additionally, our team holds several health and safety accreditations to ensure that all on-site work is conducted safely and responsibly.

In the office, our full-time Service Manager is supported by an administrative team and a Senior Engineer. This ensures that there is always someone available to address your inquiries, whether it’s a simple question or the need for a coordinated response during breakdowns. For those customers with business-critical sewage treatment installations, and pumping systems in particular (think hotels as wedding venues and caravan sites in the summer holidays), we also offer out-of-office-hours breakdown response and incident management.

We are proud of the administrative procedures that differentiate us from others. We work closely with our commercial clients to ease their paperwork burden by maintaining asset registers, asset condition reports for capex planning and maintenance budgeting and service schedules for site access. Additionally, our internal notes contain information about the temperaments and quirks of specific plants, which is especially useful during site ownership changes.

The Environment Agency, Natural Resource Wales and SEPA recommend regular inspections and maintenance visits to ensure the system is working efficiently and is not polluting the environment. As part of our maintenance visit, we will thoroughly examine your system to ensure that it’s functioning properly.

The Environmental Agency (EA) actively enforces compliance through random testing. If they suspect your system is polluting the environment, one of the first things they will ask for is your records of service and maintenance visits. We offer comprehensive reports that detail the tests, preventative maintenance, and repairs we have carried out on your Interceptor. We suggest that you keep these records for future reference in case required.

Investing in an interceptor can be a costly investment for businesses. To maintain the efficiency of your system, reduce the risk of malfunctions, and comply with regulations, we suggest scheduling regular maintenance.

How often does my system need maintenance?
There is no one-size-fits-all recommendation for system maintenance as it depends on the system’s flows and loads. It is advisable to conduct routine inspections of your interceptor every three to six months as standard. These can be conducted by your own maintenance team however, you do need to be able to demonstrate that the individual is suited to the task. An inspection should:

  • Check the area of the interceptor – is the interceptor accessible? Are there any damaged areas that could cause an issue?  Can the manhole lid be lifted?
  • Check the accumulation of silt, oil and any other substances that could have gotten into the interceptor.
  • A visual check of the interceptor itself, looking for any obvious damage.
  • A visual check of any mechanical parts associated with the interceptor e.g. probes

Interceptor servicing should take place on a minimum 5-year basis. However, particularly busy industrial or commercial sites might require maintenance and cleaning on a more frequent basis (for example on a monthly or weekly basis). The manufacturer’s instructions offer guidance on the recommended maintenance frequency specific to your system. Our engineers are also available to suggest the optimal maintenance frequency for your system.

During our visit, we replace any consumables that we believe are necessary to maintain the satisfactory performance and operational efficiency of the system before the next service. If additional maintenance is required, such as a repair, we will provide a report explaining the reason and a quote for the work.

Our service engineers are highly skilled and dedicated to delivering maintenance services with a high level of professionalism, courtesy, and effectiveness while minimizing any disruptions.

Our team of engineers is well-qualified with British Water Accreditation and supervised by a senior Service Engineer to ensure top-notch competence and quality in their work. Our Service Engineers specialize in repairing and maintaining Interceptors and other wastewater systems. We also have a dedicated team of Installation Engineers who focus solely on installing interceptors, so you can be confident that the most capable person will handle your requirements.

Our engineers have fully-equipped vehicles that carry all the necessary tools and most common parts required to perform routine preventative maintenance during the first visit.
